Welcome to Cycling4Cancer!
My name is Chris Gruar, and this is my blog of my charity cycling trip from England to Australia. This was my first major cycling adventure, and through doing the journey I set out to raise money for Worldwide Cancer Research (previously the Association for International Cancer Research – AICR). The ride took over twenty-seven months and totaled nearly forty-three thousand kilometers, taking me through forty-three countries.
While on the road I shared my journey through regular blog updates, photographs, videos, and press and media. You can also check out my road-by-road route by viewing my map. Hi Ceri- thanks for your kind offer! Unfortunatle I dont have the internet on me on the road, so I was only able to get your message now- thanks anyway! It was quite a miserable night, but I had a few hundred sheep to keep me company! Oh and the carrot cake and orange juice use were kind enough to donate really cheered me up in the tent 🙂

With your interest in history, Fishbourne Roman Palace seemed like an appropriate place to stop. You sure are a fast cyclist. I have an electric bicycle and could barely keep up with you.

thanks for your comment – I just use wordpress.com, and selected a theme that ticked all the boxes for me. I find wordpress much more easier to use than other blog sights, and just about passes for a proper website once you edit all the appearances etc. Anyways hope that helps. Chris

Poppy it’s nice to hear your enjoying the journey! I wish I had such ready access to a mug of coffee… in Iran I’m struggling to find some proper Turkish brew, except in places like the bazaars of Esfahan. Unfortunately it’s still a month until my next blog, although I will have a post up from Mashhad sharing the ten images I’ve taken at each thousand km to 20, 000!

Thanks I’m glad you enjoy my customized design. It’s Parament: Automattic. You can put a background image too, but after experimenting I chose just to use a shade of dark blue. Anyways, hope that helps!
