With just 14 days until my departure things are getting really busy at my end, and with every day passing I’m getting more and more excited to begin my charity adventure. After six months of planning I think I have finally written my last ‘list’ of things to do (needless to say its still a few pages long).
Thanks to everyone who came along last night to The Civilians and Gary Skyner charity night. We raised over 1000 pounds for AICR and we all had a cracking time! A special thanks to everyone who helped sell tickets and raffle tickets, and also The Civilians and Gary Skyner for providing a brilliant night of entertainment to a full house.
I will be leaving around 1pm from Castleford town centre on Saturday the 31st March. I’ll be there from 10am with friends and students collecting donations so it would be great to see you all there!
I would also love some company for my first cycling day, and with my lack of training and fully loaded bike it will no doubt be a very slow day! We will be cycling to Sheffield (passing through Wakefield and Barnsley train stations for anyone who would just like to join me for a shorter section).
Last week Cycling4Cancer featured in another two newspapers, including the Pontefract & Castleford Express and the Wakefield Express. The staff and pupils at Freeston Academy have been doing some fantastic fundraising over this half-term, and such enthusiasm is set to continue with our ‘blue’ mufti day, BBQ and Cycling4Cancer concert in the coming weeks 🙂
